In his keynote Steve Jobs announced the Safari 3 beta and called it the fasted browser on earth. As a user of Camino,  (after having dropped Safari 2 because of incompatibilities last year) I was surprised to feel how smooth Safari 3 is compared to the Gecko engine. Here are two video proofs of the experience:[quicktime width="480" height="380"]http://sschimanski.googlepages.com/Safari.mov[/quicktime][quicktime width="480" height="380"]http://sschimanski.googlepages.com/Gecko.mov[/quicktime] Gecko has no pixel-wise scrolling it seems. Moreover the loading times seem to be much faster in Safari (in both cases the pages were in cache, so no influence of download time).
